Jesus Christ,
+
"Glorify this mystery by word and work."

Son of God made Man,

Crowned with thorns, bearing a scepter of a reed,

Wearing a royal cloak purpled with Your Precious Blood,
+
Come, Holy Spirit,

I venerate You as the Man of Sorrows
+
fill the hearts of your faithful,

And acknowledge You as my Lord and King!
+
and kindle in them the fire of your love.

 +
Send forth your spirit,

 +
and they shall be created;

Jesus crucified,
+
and you shall renew the face of the earth.

I firmly renounce the devil

And detest all sin that has torn me

From Your loving friendship.
+
O God, you instructed the hearts of the faithful

I pledge my loyalty to You, my Savior,
+
by the light of the Holy Spirit.

And beg You to make me Your own in sincerest love.
+
Grant us in the same spirit to be truly wise

I promise to be faithful in serving You,
+
and ever to rejoice in His consolation,

And to strive to become more pleasing to You
+
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

By avoiding every sin and its occasions,

By carrying out my duties perfectly as a good Catholic,

And by practicing virtue.
+
Amen.

Jesus crucified,
+
O Mary, conceived without sin,

Accept the homage I wish to render You
+
pray for us who have recourse to you.

During this novena,

As a token of my sincerest appreciation

For the sorrows and sufferings
+
Lord Jesus Christ,

You have willingly borne
+
you have been pleased to glorify

To atone for my many sins
+
by numberless miracles the Blessed Virgin Mary,

And to prove how much You love me.
+
immaculate from the first moment of her conception.

 +
Grant that all who devoutly implore her scapular on earth

 +
may eternally enjoy your presence in heaven,

I adore You as my very God,
+
who with the Father and the Holy Spirit,

Who willed to become Man
+
live and reign, God,

In order to save me from eternal death.
+
forever and ever.

I thank You as my best Friend,
+
Amen.

Who laid down Your life

As proof of the greatest love possible.

 +
Lord Jesus Christ,

 +
for the accomplishment of your works,

I ask pardon for having
+
you have chosen the weak things of the world,

So little thought of You, Jesus crucified,
+
that no flesh may glory in your sight.

And for having caused Your sorrows
+
And for a better belief in Out Lady of Mount Carmel,

And sufferings by the many sins I have committed.
+
you have wished that the scapular be filled with like humility,

 +
we may glorify this mystery be word and work.

I pray to You, dearest Jesus,

For all the graces I need to know You,
+
Amen.

To love You and serve You faithfully until death,

And to save my soul.

Give a tender and fervent devotion
+
"His Greater Glory"

To Your Sacred Passion

By which I was redeemed,

Venerating You especially in Holy Mass.
+
Immaculate Virgin Mary,

Teach me how to unite the sorrows
+
Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Mother,

And sufferings of my life with Your own.
+
penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful

 +
and never failing intercession,

 +
manifested so often through the scapular,

Finally, through all Your sorrows and pains,
+
we your loving and trustful children

Through your Sacred Heart glowing with love for me,
+
implore you to obtain for us the graces and favors

Broken because of my want of love for You,
+
we ask during this Novena,

Through the sorrows of Mary,
+
if they be beneficial to our immortal soul,

Your Sorrowful Mother,
+
and the souls which we pray:

I ask for this special favor:

 +
(Mention your request.)

[State your intention(s) here...]

 +
You know, Mary, how often our souls have been the sanctuaries

With childlike trust
+
of your Son who disdains iniquity.

I abandon myself to Your holy Will
+
Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin

concerning my request.
+
and that purity of heart
 +

 +
which will attach us to God alone
 +

 +
so that our every thought, word, and deed,
 +

 +
may tend to his greater glory.
 +

 +

 +

 +
Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial
 +

 +
that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin
 +

 +
and at length attain to that blessed abode
 +

 +
where you are queen of angels and of people.
 +

 +

 +

 +
Amen.

"Glorify this mystery by word and work."

Come, Holy Spirit,

fill the hearts of your faithful,

and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit,

and they shall be created;

and you shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, you instructed the hearts of the faithful

by the light of the Holy Spirit.

Grant us in the same spirit to be truly wise

and ever to rejoice in His consolation,

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin,

pray for us who have recourse to you.

Lord Jesus Christ,

you have been pleased to glorify

by numberless miracles the Blessed Virgin Mary,

immaculate from the first moment of her conception.

Grant that all who devoutly implore her scapular on earth

may eternally enjoy your presence in heaven,

who with the Father and the Holy Spirit,

live and reign, God,

forever and ever.

Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ,

for the accomplishment of your works,

you have chosen the weak things of the world,

that no flesh may glory in your sight.

And for a better belief in Out Lady of Mount Carmel,

you have wished that the scapular be filled with like humility,

we may glorify this mystery be word and work.

Amen.

"His Greater Glory"

Immaculate Virgin Mary,

Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Mother,

penetrated with the most lively confidence in your all-powerful

and never failing intercession,

manifested so often through the scapular,

we your loving and trustful children

implore you to obtain for us the graces and favors

we ask during this Novena,

if they be beneficial to our immortal soul,

and the souls which we pray:

(Mention your request.)

You know, Mary, how often our souls have been the sanctuaries

of your Son who disdains iniquity.

Obtain for us then a deep hatred of sin

and that purity of heart

which will attach us to God alone

so that our every thought, word, and deed,

may tend to his greater glory.

Obtain for us also a spirit of prayer and self-denial

that we may recover by penance what we have lost by sin

and at length attain to that blessed abode

where you are queen of angels and of people.

Amen.
